On November 19, 2012 Mexico signed the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) agreement with the United States. The agreement sets out the Model I government-to-government approach to implementing the Act. Mexico is now the third Country to sign the FATCA; the U.K. and Demark were the first to sign the United States’ offshore initiative.
